When I was a student at Georgia State University, through the connections I made with my journalism professors, I was given the opportunity to work for MSNBC when they hosted the November 2019 presidential democratic debates. This was a short-term gig for a week, I was able to see the behind-the-scenes of TV news, from learning some of the technical aspects to observing the bustle of the post-debate spin room to assisting with the basics of organization. While I don't have much to practically show from this opportunity, it was one of my most exciting and enjoyable experiences as an early-career student.
