During my time as a reporter, I've earned a few awards, both for individual stories and overall performance at The Signal. I've also contributed significantly to publication-wide awards from the Atlanta Press Club in my current position at Canopy Atlanta.


Atlanta Press Club Awards

  • 2023 Awards of Excellence, News Innovation Award (For the Atlanta Documenters Program)

  • 2024 Awards of Excellence, News Innovation Award (For the Cost of Living Project)



Associated Collegiate Press

  • 2019-20, Editor-in-Chief (Partial) for Pacemaker finalist

  • 2019-20, (shared/staff) 1st place, Story of the Year- Editorial (For "Tear Down This Statue")

  • 2018-19, Honorable Mention, Story of the Year- Breaking News (For "SGA Vice President: Jones tried to pay for my vote")

Southeast Journalism Conference's "Best of the South"

  • 2019, 3rd place, College Journalist of the Year

  • 2019, 7th place, Best Feature Writer

  • 2020, 4th place, Best Public Service (for "Survivor Stories") — four other team members on this project shared this award with me as it was a collaboration: Brooklyn Valera, Amanda Shopshire-Dixon & Montenez Lowery

  • 2020, 10th place, Best Feature Writer (for three entries: "Survivor Stories," “Coronavirus stirs ‘heightened concern’ in administration" and “What graduation postponement from COVID-19 means to children of immigrants”)

  • 2020, 1st place Best College Newspaper (Overall award for the organization during my time as Editor-in-Chief)

Georgia College Press Association's Better Newspaper Contest
